In a recent certification as an Certified Anger Management Professional I was treated to this definition of Anger. “Who do I blame for my own feelings of discomfort?” Most of us will look outside ourselves to others for our anger, not acknowledging our own triggers and feelings leading up to an outburst. They did something to me therefore this anger is “justified”. When our feelings of frustration or anxiety can no longer be contained or expressed and validated we “explode” and download or blame another. Ask yourself, “what is under the anger?” Frustration, anxiety, lack of communications, lack of validation, feeling we are not being heard?
