To hold a license as a professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania, therapists must meet rigorous requirements. A pre-licensed counselor is a professional actively working toward licensure. They hold a master’s degree in counseling or a related field from an accredited university and are acquiring the 3,000 hours of clinical experience required for licensure.
Pre-licensed counselors typically take over two years to meet the clinical experience requirements to apply for their LPC.
Currently, our pre-licensed therapist, Iris, has completed over 600 clinical hours during her internship and has passed the National Counselor Exam (NCE). She continues to work under the clinical supervision of our experienced team while she gains the additional hours required for licensure.
At Lehigh Valley Counselors, we carefully select pre-licensed therapists based on their professional background, education, and positive outlook. Our pre-licensed therapist has worked with us during her graduate studies and continues to collaborate closely with our clinical supervisor.
Seeing a pre-licensed therapist offers a lower-cost alternative to licensed counselors:
This is less than half the cost of out-of-pocket rates with an LPC, which typically exceed $130 per session.
Pre-licensed therapists have just completed their master’s programs, bringing the latest knowledge and techniques in mental health treatment to their sessions.
Our pre-licensed therapist is experienced in Telemental Health, offering convenient, virtual counseling options to fit your busy lifestyle.
Motivated to apply their newly acquired skills, pre-licensed therapists provide a fresh, upbeat approach that enhances the therapeutic relationship.
Our pre-licensed therapists specializes in working with older adolescents (15-18 years) and young adults (19-35 years), addressing their unique challenges and needs.

I saw Marianne when I left my husband and she was a GREAT help to me. She helped me with my anxiety, (which was sometimes overwhelming), finances, and depression. Marianne is a welcoming and warm person. I wish her the best of luck in her new venture!
Client
Marianne Bartos was able to help me with anxiety. I was having panic attacks and she encouraged and taught me to practice breathing techniques and also meditation. These methods were very helpful to me! She is an excellent counselor and I would recommend her highly.
Client
Stan was very professional and thorough. He explained his role and the standards he would uphold for the public and DOT. He also listened to my point of view during the assessment to better understand my situation and recommend a course of action. He made clear what was expected of me. Stan also went way above and beyond what I would consider part of his job. He was a great help and resource. Thank you.
Client
Really enjoyed talking with Stan on way to recovery. Also enjoyed connecting with him on other family issues.
